Welcome to the Lakehills Civic Center
The MLBA Mission Statement
To provide resources, facilities and programs that enrich the quality of life in the Medina Lake area with an emphasis on youth and senior citizens.
The Medina Lake Betterment Association, Inc. (MLBA) was incorporated as a nonprofit entity in 1969. Originally a helipad converted to a basketball court, the Lakehills Civic Center was constructed as a masonry block building (4,400 square feet) in 1971. Improvements to the building and grounds include the addition of central AC/Heat, the stage area and dressing room, ADA compliance updates, a major kitchen remodel, two pavilions, a gazebo, outside booths, bleachers and a mobile cooler. Land was later acquired off PR 37 for parking, and what might be one of the most appreciated improvements is the recent upgrade to high speed internet.
The Lakehills Civic Center has become a centralized hub of activity for senior, youth, and community programs. The annual Cajun Fest, the Center’s signature fundraiser, has become the major social event for Lakehills, Texas. The Center is available for community members and shared with other community organizations for private events. Through these efforts, the Center serves as an increasingly important part of our community. We look forward to continuing our Mission in support of the greater Medina Lake area.
